Picnic sites

Looking for the perfect spot to host your next family reunion or event? Consider booking a picnic site in one of the city's pristine major parks. By booking in advance, you can guarantee your reserved site will be waiting for you when you arrive - and you can focus on hosting an amazing event.

The City of London has both covered and uncovered picnic sites available to rent at the following parks:

  • Gibbons Park (site map), Site #2 is the only covered picnic site available at this location
  • Springbank Park (site map), Sites F and K are the only covered picnic sites available at this location
  • Greenway Park (site map)

Picnic sites are available for reservation between Victoria Day to Thanksgiving, weather permitting. This includes all long weekends and statutory holidays.

Special Events vs. Picnics vs. Neighbourhood Events

Picnics: Gatherings using existing picnic site amenities, including picnic tables, barbeques, pavilions or back-yard propane BBQs.

Special Events: Events that are one-time, annual or are an infrequently occurring event on City of London property that is reserved for exclusive use; which raises the City's profile, supports its arts and culture agenda, and adds economic benefit to the City from a tourism perspective.

Neighbourhood Events: Community based events located in neighbourhood parks, run by not-for-profit groups and free to attend by anyone.

Rental rates for 2026

Uncovered picnic site

Base Rates (for rentals up to 49 people)

  • Uncovered (Monday to Sunday) - $84.50

Covered picnic site (Gibbons Park Site #2 and Springbank Park Sites F and K only)

Base Rates (for rentals up to 49 people)

  • Covered (Monday to Sunday) - $118.30

Additional fees for uncovered and covered picnic sites

  • Between 51 and 100 people, base rate + $40.60

Rates shown above are for a full day rental from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Additional liability insurance fees may apply to bookings. All rates listed above are subject to HST.
