Smart Commute London offers support to employers and employees in using more sustainable transportation choices for their work commutes. Smart Commute London members have access to customizable resources to encourage walking, cycling, transit, carpooling, vanpooling and telework (such as working from home). 

As a Smart Commute London member, you will have access to a range of supports: 

  • The Smart Commute app to plan your commute, find carpool partners, and connect with potential transit, cycling or walking buddies
  • Employee-focused tools
  • The Emergency Ride Home Program, which provides reimbursement for a ride home (such as a taxi or public transit) for commuters who use sustainable transportation and experience a personal emergency or unscheduled overtime
  • Business Bike Rack Program that provides a well-designed bike rack (email smartcommute@london.ca)

Did you know? Personal vehicles contribute the most to London’s greenhouse gas emissions. London’s Climate Emergency Action Plan aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, in part by reducing our reliance on personal vehicles (especially single occupant vehicle travel) and expanding support for sustainable transportation options. London’s Mobility Master Plan includes transportation mode shift targets to increase trips made by walking, cycling, transit and other sustainable options.
