The Educational Services industry was home to approximately 142 establishments and employed 24,101 people in 2023, making up 11.1% of London’s total workforce, thus making it one of London’s key sectors (top 3) (Lightcast, November 1, 2024, London CY). This sector is a vital part of London’s economy, developing knowledge and skills for London and Canada’s labour force. 

London has a strong educational system, from primary to post-secondary level, which offers the next generation of talent outstanding education. The presence of world-class educational institutions such as Western University, which includes the Ivey Business School, has a significant economic impact on London’s economy. Western has a substantial presence in the London area, being the largest employer and supporting the local economy with a budget exceeding $1.6 billion. London also boasts Fanshawe College, one of the largest colleges in Ontario, which has campuses in London, Simcoe, St. Thomas, Woodstock, and additional locations across Southwestern Ontario.
