Resources for Indigenous Londoners

Indigenous Peoples are the original inhabitants of Turtle Island (Canada), and continue to live here with their unique languages, cultures, and ceremonies. This group includes First Nations (Status and Non-Status), Inuit (Indigenous Peoples from Artic Canada), and Métis (mixed Indigenous people of west central Canada with French-Canadian settlers). London, Ontario is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron Peoples.


Resources for Indigenous individuals and communities in London

Support for Indigenous Peoples experiencing or at risk of experiencing violence: A resource hub from the Province of Ontario for Indigenous Peoples, providing information on supports for family violence, shelters for Indigenous women and children, and educational resources for violence prevention.

Atlohsa Family Healing Services Inc.:  A charitable organization offering crisis support, healing circles, and assistance to Indigenous women, men, children, and families across Southwestern Ontario. Their services focus on health, advocacy, restorative justice, and more. 

N’Amerind Friendship Centre : N’Amerind Frienship Centre offers a wide range of services and programs that promote the spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional well-being of urban Indigenous Peoples. Their resources include children’s programming, court caseworkers, pre- and post-natal support and counselling, and more.

Native Intertribal Housing: A housing co-operative offering affordable housing and support to urban Indigenous Peoples in London.

Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Healing Access Centre: The Centre offers holistic wellness and healthcare rooted in Indigenous teachings. Services include dental care, primary care and patient education, mental health services, services for children, youth, and senior, and traditional healing.

Indigenous-Led Organizations in London: This resource developed by Pillar Nonprofit serves as a summary guide to resources and services led by and for Indigenous Peoples in and around London, Ontario. It includes information and referrals related to healthcare, social services, cultural and play programs, as well as education and employment.
