London Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership

London Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership

At its core, the London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership (LMLIP) is designed to help newcomers to Canada integrate in our community. LMLIP does this through assisting immigrants by connecting them with services and providing information to raise awareness about services and accessibility.

LMLIP is a collaborative community initiative, funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, and supported by the Government of Ontario  and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. It is co-led by the City of London and a community member.

LMLIP prioritizes five key elements of integration:

  • striving to create a more welcoming community;
  • improving communication and access to information;
  • coordination and collaboration between the support networks that exist and the people who need them;
  • providing supports and services for immigrants; and
  • reducing systemic barriers in our community.

Since its founding in 2009, LMLIP has partnered with hundreds of people from various ethnocultural groups, service providers, government agencies, and others interested in immigrant integration issues. This has resulted in the development of over 30 products and services focused on cross-sector collaboration and partnership, all designed to help immigrants better integrate into their new communities.
