Bostwick Road Environmental Assessment

Background

Bostwick Road is a major street that can connect future development in southwest London to the rest of the city.

This Environmental Assessment was initiated to consider realigning Bostwick Road west of Wharncliffe Road to increase capacity, accessibility and better serve all areas of the city – changes that were previously recommended by the City’s Transportation Master Plan and the Southwest Area Plan.

The study also reviewed the possibility of extending Bradley Avenue to Pack Road as part of any potential construction.

The project team considered alternative ways to construct these changes as part of the Environmental Assessment, and ultimately recommended the Bostwick Road realignment and Bradley Avenue extension through the Environmental Study Report.

Current status

This Environmental Assessment is now complete. In April 2019, City Council approved the Bostwick Road realignment along with the Bradley Avenue extension. Both streets will be four lanes wide. Construction of Bostwick Road from Pack to Wharncliffe is expected to happen in 2026.
