About the Neighbourhood Profiles

The Neighbourhood Profiles share information from the 2021 Census data for neighbourhoods. Each profile shows a snapshot of the people who live in that part of the city including details about population, housing, education, income, and more. 

Neighbourhood boundaries are based on local planning districts, which may be larger than the neighbourhoods residents are more familiar with. In many cases, the names of the smaller neighbourhoods are included to help you find your area.

Census Data and Updates

The 2021 Census of Population, conducted on May 11, 2021, provides a comprehensive snapshot of Canada’s population on that date. For Census data at other geographic levels (such as Canada, provinces, Census Metropolitan Areas, Census Tracts, or Dissemination Areas), please visit the Census Profile 2021 tool, provided by Statistics Canada. 

The next Census is scheduled to take place on May 12, 2026 and data will begin to be released by Fall 2026. The Neighbourhood Profiles will be updated once all the data has been released in 2028.

Data limitations and methodology 

To protect privacy, Statistics Canada limits or suppresses data for areas with small populations. The neighbourhood-level data shown here were derived by combining smaller Dissemination Area (DA) data. As a result, totals may not always match official Census counts exactly. In some rural or low population areas, certain data may not be available.
