Movie Schedule

Tuesday, August 4 – Jurassic Park (1993)

Rating: PG

One of the greatest adventure films ever made, Jurassic Park kicks off the series with dinosaurs, suspense, and unforgettable movie magic.

Parent advisory: While appropriate for many older children, the film contains frequent scenes of peril, intense dinosaur attacks, frightening sequences, some deaths, and brief scenes with blood. Younger or more sensitive children may find parts of the movie frightening.

Tuesday, August 11 – La Bamba (1987)

Rating: PG

Celebrating London's designation as a UNESCO City of Music, La Bamba honours the life and music of Ritchie Valens while recognizing the rich contributions of London's Latin American community and the city's vibrant Indigenous music scene.

Parent advisory: The film includes mature themes surrounding relationships, family conflict, alcohol use, and the tragic deaths of several characters in a plane crash. There is very little graphic violence, but the emotional subject matter may be upsetting for younger viewers.

Tuesday, August 18 – 42 (2013)

Rating: PG

Located just across the river from historic Labatt Memorial Park, Harris Park provides the perfect setting for the story of Jackie Robinson. 42 celebrates baseball's power to break barriers while recognizing London's deep baseball heritage and the important contributions of the city's Black community.

Parent advisory: Parents should be aware that the film portrays the racism Jackie Robinson experienced while breaking baseball's colour barrier. It includes repeated use of racist language and slurs in their historical context, scenes of discrimination and harassment, some sports-related injuries, and mild violence. These themes provide opportunities for meaningful family conversations but may be difficult for younger children.

Tuesday, August 25 – Bicentennial Man (1999)

Rating: PG

Bicentennial Man invites audiences to reflect on humanity, technology, and what it means to be a person. As London marks 200 years, the film offers a thoughtful look toward the future and the questions emerging in the age of artificial intelligence.

Parent advisory: The film contains some emotional scenes involving death, aging, and loss, along with mild thematic discussions about identity and humanity. There is no significant violence or frightening content, making it suitable for most families.

Events are weather dependent. If a movie is cancelled due to weather, it will be shown the following Wednesday. Watch the City's Facebook and Instagram channels for updates.
