Saskatoon and Brydges/Wavell Bike Lanes

The City is making improvements to traffic and cycling infrastructure on Brydges Street, Wavell Street, and Saskatoon Street.

This project will include bike lanes, upgrades to traffic signals and improved intersection design.

The City will be making improvements on Brydges Street and Wavell Street between Highbury Avenue North and Clarke Road. Work will also take place on Saskatoon Street between Wavell Street and Dundas Street.

The work

The City will complete the following work:

  • construction of bike lanes integrated with transit stops and improved intersections
  • identification of utility conflicts and coordination of relocations
  • removal of most on-street parking

The benefits

Construction will result in:

  • improvements to safety for all road users
  • cyclists will be better connected to key destinations such as the East Lions Community Centre, Clarke Road Secondary School, Argyle Mall and Kiwanis Park
  • traffic lights and transit stops will be upgraded

Project Timeline

April 15, 2021: Public consultation

The project team held a virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) for residents, nearby business owners and interested parties to learn about construction and ask any questions.

Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin late spring, 2021 and be completed in spring/summer 2022.
