Lace up! Outdoor skating season is here!

With the first big snowfall behind us, it’s the perfect time to head outdoors! The Victoria Park skating rink opens on Friday, December 12 at 6 p.m. (weather permitting) and will stay open for the 2025-2026 winter season. 

The annual skating trail that loops around the grounds of Storybook Gardens opened on Saturday, November 29, with almost 300 people stopping by for a glide over the weekend. It is open daily, weather permitting, throughout the rest of the winter season. 

Victoria Park free ice skating

Free outdoor ice skating at Victoria Park will be open daily from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., weather permitting throughout the winter season. Skate rentals will be available at the Kiwanis Memorial Bandshell concession for $8.00 per person and sharpening will be available for $8.00. The concession will be open from Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. During the holidays from December 20 to January 4, it will be open from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m.

Storybook Gardens skate trail

Winding through the enchanting park grounds, Storybook Gardens’ 250-metre outdoor skate trail is a unique way to experience a little bit of London in the winter. The trail is open every day of the week, weather permitting.  The Storybook Gardens is open Monday to Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays, 1:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  During the holidays the trail will be open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (excluding Christmas Day). Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for children ages 17 and under, and free for children under 24 months old. Rates will increase slightly in January 2026 to $5.25 and $4.25 respectively.  Skate rentals are available for $7 per person.
