Countdown begins for Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™

As the first match of the FIFA World Cup™ kicks off today, the City of London is inviting residents and visitors to be part of the excitement this summer. Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™ brings the atmosphere of the world’s biggest sporting event to Victoria Park on Saturday, July 4, 12:30 – 8:30 p.m. 

As part of the official countrywide FIFA-led celebration taking place in communities across Canada, London’s event will transform Victoria Park into a free, family-friendly fan zone filled with entertainment and community spirit.

The day will feature two live FIFA World Cup 2026™ round of 16 match screenings at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., giving fans the opportunity to watch high-stakes action as teams compete for a place in the quarter-finals.

In addition to the match screenings, attendees can enjoy soccer-themed activities, food vendors and interactive experiences for all ages throughout the day. A licensed beer garden in support of the Children’s Health Foundation will also be onsite for those of legal drinking age.

Hosted by Mike Stubbs, the event will also offer live entertainment throughout the day, including performances by London artists DJ K-VIII and King Cruff.

While Toronto and Vancouver host tournament matches, Canada Celebrates gives Londoners the chance to experience the excitement close to home.

Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, wear their favourite soccer gear and enjoy a full day of celebration in the heart of downtown London.
