Applications now open for 2026 Ontario Renovates home repair and accessibility funding

The City of London is now accepting applications for 2026 Ontario Renovates program. This program provides financial assistance to eligible homeowners aged 60 or older and individuals with disabilities to help maintain safe, accessible, and affordable housing.

Funded through federal and provincial housing programs, Ontario Renovates offers a one-time forgivable loan of up to $25,000 to assist homeowners with essential home repairs and accessibility modifications. For approved accessibility projects, the first $5,000 is provided as a grant.

The program is designed to support low-to-moderate income homeowners who require financial assistance to address critical repairs, improve home safety, and enhance accessibility, enabling residents to remain in their homes and communities for longer.

"Ontario Renovates is an incredibly valuable program and a great example of how government funding can have a direct and lasting impact on residents," said Matt Feldberg, Director, Municipal Housing and Industrial Development. "The program helps seniors and individuals with disabilities complete essential home repairs and accessibility improvements that might otherwise be out of reach, allowing them to maintain safe, accessible homes and continue living independently in the communities they call home. These improvements not only enhance quality of life but also help preserve affordable housing options across London and Middlesex County.”
