The Civic Garden Complex is one of London's most scenic settings for indoor private functions.  Whether you are looking for a picturesque location for your wedding photos, a professional setting for a business seminar or a unique location to host any event, Civic Garden Complex is a quality location for a successful and memorable day.  To complement this beautiful attraction, the facility is surrounded by gardens with walkways, arbours, ponds, and acres of green space.

Conservatory

Public viewing times for the Civic Garden Complex - January 1 to 31, 2026:

Some time slots have recreational programs taking place in Birch Hall, so the public will not have access to that area during those times. However, the Conservatory, tropical plant area, and pond will remain open for viewing on all the dates listed below.

Kitchen

There is no commercial kitchen on site. Our kitchen facilities are only available for light preparation and serving duties and are not equipped to cook food.  As such, all food must be prepared off site by a licensed caterer.  To discuss catering options, please contact Kelly Farmer at kfarmer@london.ca

Patio

Accessible brick patio space and outdoor seating option available.   

Note:  Gazebo not included as part of rental agreement. It is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Rental Information
  • Civic Garden Complex is a fully accessible building that can accommodate a sit-down dinner for 80 to100 people, theatre style seating (rows of chairs only) for 125 or a cocktail style, (no seating/tables) for 150 people.
  • Podium, microphone, retractable screen and cordless microphone are available.  Accessible brick patio extending available space and providing outdoor seating options.
  • Tables, chairs, highchair included in hall rental.  Tables: 4ft. round (3), 5ft. round (15), 6ft. rectangular (25), 4ft. rectangular (4).  Chairs: white wedding chairs (125) and black business commercial chairs (tables and chairs are not to be removed from the building).
  • Wi-Fi Service is available upon request.
  • Fridge, stove, microwave, double sink, hand sink.  No overnight storage of any kind is permitted, and all personal items must be removed at the end of the rental.
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the facility or on the facility grounds & scent free facility.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be supervised at all times.
  • No confetti/rose petals, sparklers, fireworks, bubbles, smoke/fog machines, floor decals, inflatables or pets are permitted.
  • Special requests must be approved ahead of rental date.

When can I view the building?

Can we bring in our own caterer?
  • Catering companies that have a business licence, insurance and the ability to prepare all food off site and transport it to the Civic Garden 
    Facility are permitted.
  • Kitchen facilities are only available for light preparation duties and are not equipped for cooking food.
  • Wedding cake may be brought in from a bakery of choice.
  • Table clothes, chair covers, cutlery, wine glasses, etc., are not provided by the facility and need to be arranged with caterer.

What can I bring in the conservatory?
  • No food or drinks are allowed in the conservatory.
  • No plants are permitted in the conservatory.
  • Cruiser tables only are permitted (no food or drinks).
  • If it rains during your patio ceremony, you may use the conservatory for backup.
When can I set-up my decorations?
  • If your intention is to decorate the hall for your event, it is recommended that you book the full day; otherwise please refer to your contract agreement for approved hours.
  • Decorating track and hooks are available.  As tape removes the paint and leaves marks on the walls, only 3M hooks are permitted for hanging decorations.  3M hooks only on wood or metal surfaces, no painted surfaces.
  • Battery operated candles are preferred.  Fire Marshall regulation indicates that lit candles must be in a 
    container 1 inch rounder than the candle and the container must be 3 inches above the flame.
  • All decorations must be taken down and 
    removed at the end of your function.  We do not supply a ladder.
  • No overnight storage of any kind is permitted.

 

Can we bring the chairs down to the gazebo?

Chairs and tables are not to be removed from the building.

The gazebo and outdoor grounds are public space and therefore cannot be rented or reserved.  Any usage in this space is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The City of London will not be held responsible for chair rentals - please make arrangements with your rental company for delivery and pick-up.

What can you tell me about the bar?

We suggest you contact the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) three weeks in advance of your function.  The Liquor License must be posted and your bartenders Smart Serve Trained.  We require you hire two bartenders to cover breaks.  No bar is to be left unattended at any time.

The Civic Garden Complex is home to the Garden Club of London and the Friends of the London Civic Garden Complex. Annual events taking place at this facility include a Spring Greenhouse Tour, Children’s Workshop and Fall Sale, organized by the Friends of the London Civic Garden Complex as well as the Garden Club of London Flower Show, and Christmas Boutique.
