The City of London celebrates National Public Works Week from May 17 to 23, 2026. During this time, municipalities across Canada celebrate the important role public works plays in serving our community.

Touch-a-Truck event celebrating National Public Works Week

Join City of London staff for a free and fun family event on Saturday, May 23. 

• Date: May 23, 2026
• Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon
  • Quiet time from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. for those who prefer fewer crowds and no honking from our trucks.
• Location: The Adelaide Operations Centre - 1153 Adelaide Street North.

What to expect 

• Several of our trucks will be on display outside the Adelaide Yard for kids to interact with.
• See firsthand what trucks and machinery sewer operations, forestry professionals, waste management operators, and other public works teams use to help our city each day.
• Kids and families can ask questions, learn about the different trucks and equipment, and participate in activities.
• We will be unveiling the new name of the City Street Sweeper!
• The Food Bank will be there to take non-perishable food items.
