Background

The Kilally South, East Basin Environmental Assessment reviews and determines a practical stormwater strategy for a 96 hectare future neighbourhood development area, following a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process. 

The EA followed a comprehensive process to develop a preferred stormwater mitigation approach for the benefit of the natural environment, the downstream Thames River, and residents alike. Based on the results of a comprehensive hydrogeology field program, in conjunction with other background studies, the recommended stormwater management strategy includes Low Impact Development (LID) stormwater controls and dry/infiltration detention stormwater management facilities to maintain existing infiltration rates and provide quantity control. 

Current status

The 30 day Public and Agency Review period took place between September 11, 2020 and October 12, 2020.  No comments were received.  The Project File Report is now complete. The City will be undertaking further studies to review and consider the implementation and mitigation works associated with the construction of the Kilally South, East Basin stormwater management outlet and the Clarke Road bridge.

Study area

This study examines 96 hectares of future development lands in the Kilally neighbourhood in London’s north-east end.
