White Oak Road and Bradley Avenue intersection to close for Bradley Avenue Extension work

Starting Monday, August 31 (weather permitting), the White Oak Road and Bradley Avenue intersection will be temporarily closed for approximately two weeks while crews complete the next stage of watermain and road work.

A signed detour will be in place using Southdale Road, Wellington Road and Exeter Road.

Drivers are advised to expect delays, allow extra time and follow detour signage to reach their destinations.

What’s happening

Crews will install a new watermain across White Oak Road at the intersection, replace the curbs and remove and replace the road surface within the intersection.

A watermain is an underground pipe that carries clean drinking water to homes and businesses.

What’s already happened

Work on the project has been underway, with crews completing earlier stages of the watermain installation and other work in the area. This upcoming closure is needed to complete the work across the intersection and finish the road surface.

About the project

The Bradley Avenue Extension Project runs from Wharncliffe Road South to Jalna Boulevard. Work began in 2025 and includes building a new four-lane road, widening Bradley Avenue between White Oak Road and Jalna Boulevard, and adding sidewalks, bike paths, street lighting and landscaping.

The project is expected to be mostly finished by fall 2026, with paving and final cleanup planned for 2027.
