With the Victoria Day long weekend approaching, the City of London is reminding residents planning backyard fireworks displays to prioritize safety and follow the Fireworks By-law.
Are you a business owner looking to sell fireworks? Businesses/retailers operating a Consumer Fireworks Sales Business must hold a valid City of London municipal business licence. Once a licence has been approved and issued, firework sales are permitted on and 5 days before Victoria Day (Monday, May 19). Contact licensing@london.ca to obtain more information.
Planning a backyard fireworks display? Weather conditions should always be taken into consideration and a water hose or pail of water should be kept close by. Fireworks are never permitted to be discharged in City parks or on streets.
London Fire Department Inspectors and Municipal Compliance Officers will be active in our community enforcing the by-law.
To report a noise concern relating to fireworks after hours or on days when not permitted, please call 519-661-5670 and provide the exact address from where the fireworks are occurring.
In the event of fire or personal injury that requires immediate medical attention, residents are reminded to call 9-1-1.
