Traffic impacts in north and west London on June 6

Londoners should expect temporary road closures, detours and traffic delays in parts of north and west London on Saturday, June 6, 2026, as community members gather and march to commemorate five years since the loss of Our London Family.

A ceremony will be held at South Carriage and Hyde Park Roads at 6:00 p.m., followed by a march beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. The march will travel south along Hyde Park Road to Oxford Street West, finishing at Oakridge Secondary School.

Traffic impacts

Temporary rolling road closures will occur as the march moves through the area. Drivers should expect delays and intermittent access restrictions between approximately 6:45 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Key impacts include:

• Beginning at 9 a.m., the southbound curb lane on Hyde Park Road within the South Carriage Road intersection will be restricted, as well as the entrance to South Carriage Road west of Hyde Park Road, to support event set up.
• Prince of Wales Gate will close beginning at 11 a.m., with local access maintained.
• Beginning at approximately 6:45 p.m., Hyde Park Road will be fully closed between Gainsborough Road and Sarnia Road.
• After the march begins at 7:30, additional temporary closures and traffic restrictions will occur along Hyde Park Road between Sarnia Road and Oxford Street West, including at major intersections, as participants make their way through the march route.
• Oxford Street West between Hyde Park road and Oakridge Secondary School will experience temporary closures and traffic delays as participants arrive at the conclusion of the march.
• Roads and intersections along the march route will reopen in phases as participants make their way through the area.

Drivers should expect delays and limited access to some neighbourhoods in the area, including communities accessed from Fitzwilliam Boulevard, Prince Philip Drive and South Carriage Road.

Participants are expected to arrive at Oakridge Secondary School between approximately 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., with the event concluding around 9:15 p.m.
