Temporary Lane Closures: Queens Avenue and Richmond Street intersection

Starting on Monday, March 13, 2023, temporary lane closures will begin at the Queens Avenue and Richmond Street intersection to allow for Hydro work in the area as part of the Downtown Loop Phase 2 project.

During this time, one lane of traffic will be maintained for southbound and northbound travel on Richmond Street. Temporary lane closures will last approximately one week.

Drivers travelling northbound and southbound on Richmond Street are advised to expect delays and to plan ahead by using navigation apps such as Waze and Google Maps. Signs will be installed to help guide traffic through the intersection.

As a reminder, periodic lane restrictions are currently in place on Queens Avenue between Richmond Street and Talbot Street as part of this work.

Pedestrian access will be maintained through the area. Cyclists are encouraged to use Dundas Place where connections to the Dundas Place and Dundas Bikeway are available for east-west cycling through the core.

London Transit buses will continue to operate on Richmond Street throughout this work. The stop for routes 4 and 104, which is located on Richmond Street, north of Queens Avenue will be closed and transit riders will be directed to catch the bus at the stop located on Richmond Street, north of Carling Street. Transit riders are encouraged to visit the LTC website for route detours and service updates.

Businesses remain open and accessible during construction.
