Londoners invited to community meeting on the City’s urban growth boundary and London Plan review

The City of London is hosting a community information meeting on Tuesday, May 20 to share updates on the Official Plan review of The London Plan – a process that helps shape how London grows over the next 20 to 30 years. Topics will include the draft industrial land needs assessment and proposed changes to the urban growth boundary.   

The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall in Committee Rooms 1 & 2 (300 Dufferin Avenue, 2^nd floor). A presentation will begin shortly after 7 p.m. followed by a Q&A session. City staff will be available to answer questions and discuss the project. A virtual attendance option will be available via Zoom. 

The industrial land needs assessment determines how much land is needed for future industrial, and employment uses and where that land should be located. The City’s urban growth boundary outlines where new homes, businesses and other urban development can occur. Draft maps showing the proposed changes and landowner requests are now available for review on the project’s Get Involved webpage. These maps are being shared for ongoing consultation with residents, Indigenous groups, landowners, and members of the development industry. 

The draft materials and updates are targeted to be presented to the Planning and Environment Committee on June 23. Public consultation and technical work will continue through the fall. A final report is expected to be presented to City Council in Q4 2025.
