Family Day fun in London, Ontario

Monday, February 20 is Family Day. The City is hosting a number of exciting family-friendly programs and activities including a pancake breakfast, ice skating, roller skating, swimming and sports. Check out the many fun things to do around the city.

Free pancake breakfast and recreation activities

East Lions Community Centre will be hosting a morning of family fun, with free activities including a pancake breakfast, open gym session and arts and crafts session taking place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In addition, we will be offering free balloon animals for children from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., as well as an interactive balloon show at 11 a.m.

Free indoor and outdoor ice skating

Free indoor skating sessions will be available at Earl Nichols Recreation Centre and Stronach Community Recreation Centre from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Registration is required for free skating sessions, and is available through Play Your Way online.

Enjoy free outdoor ice skating, with the Victoria Park ice rink open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the Rotary Rink outside of Covent Garden Market open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Skate rentals are available at both sites. For more details, please visit our skating page.

Free indoor roller skating

Free indoor roller skating sessions will be available at North London Optimist Community Centre from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Registration is required for free skating sessions, and is available through Play Your Way online. Londoners are welcome to bring their own roller or in-line skates. Four-wheel retro-style roller skates are available to rent at $5.38 per pair.

Storybook Gardens’ skate trail

Weather permitting, Storybook Gardens’ skate trail sessions will be available on Family Day from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with registration required. The 250-metre, 10,000 square foot outdoor skate trail winds through the beautiful park grounds, offering a unique skating experience in the city. Admission is $4.50 per adult and $3.50 per child, with skate rentals available for $6.50 per person on a first come, first serve basis. Learn more.

Closures

All City administrative offices will be closed on Monday, February 20, including City Hall, Citi Plaza, all Ontario Works offices, and the Provincial Offences Administrative Office.
