Shawn Lewis was elected as the City Councillor for Ward 2—London’s Argyle area—in 2018.
Rooted in community, Shawn is a member of the board of the Argyle Community Association, Optimist Club member and been involved in London Bandits Minor Hockey. Shawn is also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and has devoted his time to several memorial projects for veterans.
As a City Councillor Shawn sits on the Board of the Argyle Business Improvement Association, Tourism London, and the London Middlesex Community Housing Board. He has served on all 4 standing committees of council during his term, and as our Deputy Mayor is the chair of the Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee as well as the Governance Working Group.
As Deputy Mayor and as Vice-Chair of the Planning Committee one of Shawn’s main focuses in the past year has been on working with staff, the private sector, and the not-for-profit sector to get housing of all types moving forward in our city to alleviate the housing crisis.
When he finds a spare moment, Shawn is an avid swimmer, gardener, and self-professed sci-fi and comic book geek who like to curl up with a good book and his cat Loki.
