Middlesex County is home to two hospitals, a variety of health clinics and social services to provide health care support and services to the rural and urban areas of Middlesex County. For more specialized medical treatments, the London Health Sciences Centre network is within close proximity to most regions of Middlesex County and can provide those services.

Hospitals

Four Counties Health Services (FHCS)

  • A primary care facility providing emergency care, diagnostic services, and rehabilitation. Serving approximately 23,000 residents, it is located in the village of Newbury at the intersection of Chatham Kent, Middlesex, and Elgin Counties.

Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH)

  • A full service family-centred community hospital providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic and ambulatory services, as well as both primary and secondary care, serving a population of approximately 35,000 residents. The hospital operates 54 acute care beds along with a comprehensive range of diagnostic and outpatient services. Medical staffing includes a number of active local family physicians, internists, surgeons and specialists.

Social Services

Women’s Rural Resource Centre (WRRC)

  • Provide education, prevention, and support services for women and families impacted by violence against women in Middlesex County.

Youth Opportunities Unlimited

  • Services are designed to help youth lead positive lives, whether they are in need of basic needs and housing, access to physical, mental or dental health care, or education and employment supports.

Middlesex County's Social Services 

  • The Middlesex County social services department provides a range of services to County residents to assist with financial, employment, housing, and child-care needs.
