Those impacted by these cancellations are being contacted directly and will be provided updates on any future cancellations or other changes.

Community centres remain open

Supporting our vulnerable population during extreme weather events

During periods of extreme heat or poor air quality, Coordinated Informed Response (CIR) and community outreach teams continue to prioritize engagement with people who may be more vulnerable to these conditions.

Teams share information about cooling locations and available supports, encourage people to seek relief in air-conditioned indoor spaces where possible, distribute water as part of their outreach efforts, and connect people with services that can help reduce health risks.

This work is coordinated with community partners to help ensure people have access to the information and resources they need.

Middlesex-London Health Unit recommendations

The Middlesex-London Health Unit is encouraging everyone in London to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke.People should be aware of their sensitivity to air pollution and take appropriate measures to protect their health, including avoiding strenuous outdoor activity and limiting time outside as much as possible.

The Health Unit will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates, should it become necessary. For more information, please visit the Middlesex-London Health Unit’s website.
