Building, Plumbing, Sign & Work Approval Permit Applications and Inspections
- Building and plumbing permit applications.
- Submit applications online. Please note: applications submitted during the holiday closure will be deemed as submitted in January 2025.
- Special inspections on holidays can be conducted based on staff availability and for a fee. Email Building@london.ca to inquire. For inspection requests during the Closure, contact our after-hours Dispatch at 519-661-4965.

Child care fee subsidy
The Child Care Fee Subsidy office at Citi Plaza will be closed at noon on December 24, 2024, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on January 2, 2025.
Online applications for child care fee subsidy can be accessed anytime.
City Clerk's Office - Marriage Licences, Civil Ceremonies, Burial Permits, Lottery Licensing
December 27 & 30 (8:30 a.m.- 4:15 p.m.) and 31 (8:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m.) regular services are available at City Hall from the 3rd Floor Counter in the City Clerk’s Office, as well as through the online submission portal.
For Emergency Burial Permit Issuances only:
December 25, 26, 28, 29 and January 1, please visit London Police Service Headquarters (601 Dundas St) between 7:00 and 11:00 a.m.

Dearness Home administration offices
Open regular hours on December 27, 28. December 29 open until noon. Offices are closed December 25, 26, and January 1.
Please note that these offices will be open until noon on December 24th and December 31st.
Development applications
Existing online submissions will remain available or you can deposit applications in the City Hall mail slot (located at the west side of City Hall's front entrance) or mail them to Planning and Development, City of London, 300 Dufferin Ave. PO Box 5035, London, N6A 4L9.
Discretionary Benefits
Offices are open December 24 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, December 27 & 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and December 31 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Dog and cat licences
Available at London Animal Care Centre located at 121 Pine Valley Boulevard.

Fire services
If you are experiencing an emergency, call 9-1-1. Fire services will be responding to all emergency calls.

Forestry
The Forestry Operations Dispatch office will be closed from 3:30 p.m. on December 23 until 8 a.m. on January 2. Forestry crews will still be working.
Report emergencies such as storm damage related to individual City owned trees, tree by-law enforcement (private or public lands), etc. to the City’s 24-hour Dispatch office at 519-661-4965.
Submit non-emergency concerns about trees located on public property (boulevard, parks, woodlands), tree permit applications, etcetera to Forestry Dispatch at trees@london.ca, through the Service London Portal or by leaving a message at 519-661-5783.
Garbage & recycling

Licensing – Business, Residential Rental Unit Licence, Vehicle for Hire (Taxi)
Application information is available online and can be emailed to licensing@london.ca. Applications and cheques can also be submitted by mail or dropped off in the City Hall mail slot. Business licences expire annually January 31 and renewals can be done by email.
Life Stabilization
Applications for Ontario Works Assistance: Offices are open December 27 and 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and December 31 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Online applications for Ontario Works can be accessed at any time.
Case status and cheque information - ongoing Ontario Works clients can access information about their case by calling the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System at 1-800-808-2268. The IVR system is available 24/7.
January cheques will be mailed on Friday, December 31, 2024. Your cheque is cashable on December 31, 2024. If your assistance is deposited directly into your bank account, it will be available on December 31. Cheques being held for pickup will be available on December 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Parking inquiries, payments, enforcement and overnight parking
Parking Enforcement

Overnight Parking
Overnight parking passes to allow on-street parking may not be available subject to weather. Please check the overnight parking pass page to determine if a pass can be obtained prior to parking on the street.
Payment
Payments can be made online or placed in the drop box at the front of the building at 824 Dundas Street.
Property taxes
Payments by cheque in sealed envelopes can be dropped into the City Hall mail slot at 300 Dufferin Avenue, on the southwest corner of the building or mailed to Property Tax Section, City of London, PO Box 5256, London, ON N6A 5M6.
Online and banking payments can still be made during the closure.
Provincial Offences Court Administration Office (POA Office)
The Provincial Offences Court Office is closed at noon on Tuesday December 24, 2024, reopening 8:30 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, and closed at noon Tuesday, December 31, 2024, reopening 8:30 a.m. Thursday January 2, 2025.
Traffic tickets can be paid anytime online at www.paytickets.ca.
Recreation and Sport
All services closed December 25.
Customer Service will be available via email, phone and in-person at the Citi Plaza location on December 27 and 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, and December 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Community and Seniors' Centres and Aquatics will be open for a variety of programs, including Holiday Day Camps, drop-in opportunities, and pre-registered recreation programs.
Arenas - Modified hours December 24 and 31 (7 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
Pre-registration is required for all indoor skate times. Register using your Play Your Way account online or call 519-661-5575.
Victoria Park ice rink will be open daily (weather permitting) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Storybook Gardens - Open for extended skating hours weather permitting. Please check the Storybook Gardens webpage for updates to hours and/or skating conditions.

There is 24/7 on call service for emergencies related to unsafe buildings only (for example, a house or building fire, a vehicle collision or a tree collapse on a building).
