Building, Plumbing, Pool Fence and Sign Permit Applications and Inspections
Building and Plumbing Permit Applications - Visit london.ca/building for information and to access the online application portal. As per s.7 of the DC by-law, applications submitted during the holiday closure will be deemed as submitted in January 2024.

Special inspections on holidays can be conducted based on staff availability. The flat fee for a holiday special inspection, up to a maximum of 3 hours and excluding a fire protection inspection is $687.92. The flat fee for a holiday special inspection, up to a maximum of 3 hours, for fire protection systems is $859.88. The holiday inspection requests and required fees need to be submitted no later than December 15, 2023.

Noise Complaints

The noise complaint line is responded to on Friday and Saturday evenings between 7 p.m. and 2:30 a.m.
Child care fee subsidy
The Child Care Fee Subsidy office at Citi Plaza will be closed at noon on December 22, 2023, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on January 2, 2024.
Online applications for child care fee subsidy can be accessed anytime.
Dearness Home administration offices
Dearness Home administration offices will be open regular hours on December 27 and 28. Please note that these offices will be open until noon on December 29.
Development applications
Existing online submissions will remain available or you can deposit applications in the City Hall mail slot (located at the west side of City Hall's front entrance) or mail them to Planning and Development, City of London, 300 Dufferin Ave. PO Box 5035, London, N6A 4L9.

Fire services
If you are experiencing an emergency, call 9-1-1. Fire services will be responding to all emergency calls.
If your call is not an emergency, please email fireforms@london.ca or call 519-661-5615 on December 27 when the office reopens.
Administrative offices will be open December 27 to December 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and reopen on Tuesday, January 2 at 8:00 a.m.
Forestry
Report emergencies related to the tree protection by-law or issues such as storm damage related to individual City owned trees to service@london.ca or call 519-661-2489 x 4965.
Submit tree protection by-law enforcement, tree cutting issues or complaints to trees@london.ca or leave a message at 519-661-CITY(2489) x 4457.
Submit concerns or work orders about trees located on public property (boulevard, parks, woodlands) to Forestry Dispatch at trees@london.ca or call 519-661-2489 x 5783.

Licences & permits
Burial permits: December 23-26 & Dec 30-Jan 1 please visit London Police Service Headquarters (601 Dundas St) between 7:00am-11:00am for emergency issuances only. December 27 to December 29 services are available as normal through the online submission portal until 11:45am. Staff will be monitoring AskCity@london.ca during these hours and responding to inquiries.
Dog and cat licences – Available at London Animal Care Centre. 121 Pine Valley Boulevard. Open December 28, 29 and 30 or online at www.accpets.ca. For more information, please call 519-685-1330.
Residential rental licences, business and taxi licensing - Application information is available at london.ca/licences and can be emailed to licensing@london.ca. Applications and cheques may also be submitted by mail or dropped off in the City Hall mail slot (located at the west side of City Hall's front entrance.) Business licences expire annually on January 31 and renewals can be done by email.

Applications for Ontario Works Assistance
Offices are open December 27 and 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and December 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Online applications for Ontario Works can be accessed at any time at https://saapply.mcss.gov.on.ca.
Case status and cheque information - ongoing Ontario Works clients can access information about their case by calling the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System at 1-800-808-2268. The IVR system is available 24/7.
January cheques will be mailed on December 22, 2023. Your cheque is cashable on December 29, 2023. If your assistance is deposited directly into your bank account, it will be available on December 29.

Parking Enforcement

Overnight Parking
Overnight parking passes to allow on-street parking may not be available subject to weather. Please check the overnight parking pass page to determine if a pass can be obtained prior to parking on the street.
Payment
Payments can be made online or placed in the drop box at the front of the building at 824 Dundas Street.
Property taxes
Payments by cheque in sealed envelopes can be dropped into the City Hall mail slot, 300 Dufferin Avenue, on the southwest corner of the building or mailed to Property Tax Section, City of London, PO Box 5256, London, ON N6A 5M6
Recreation and Sport
Customer Service will be available via e-mail, phone and in-person at the Citi Plaza location on December 27 and 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and December 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Registration for programs can be completed online at any time.
Arenas & outdoor skating rinks
Arenas closed - December 25 and January 1
Modified Hours – December 24 and 31 (7 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
Pre-registration is required for all indoor skate times. Register seven days in advance using your Play Your Way account online or call 519-661-5575.
Victoria Park ice rink – Open daily (weather permitting) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The rink is closed for ice resurfacing from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. daily. To check whether the ice rink is closed due to weather conditions please call 519-661-5768.
Covent Garden Market Rotary rink – Temporarily closed, scheduled to reopen January 2024.
Storybook Gardens – Closed December 25. Open for extended skating hours weather permitting. Please check the Storybook Gardens website for updates to hours and/or skating conditions.
