The City of London regulates the use of large/heavy load trucks travelling through the City for use at construction sites. Clearances are required prior to the truck, object, or heavy load travelling or occupying the City right-of-way.
Applying for a heavy loads permit
The following documents are required when applying for a heavy loads permit:

Schedule "A" - fee schedule for a permit where:
- the width is in the overall loaded range of 259.08cm (102 inches) to 365.76cm (144 inches)
- does not exceed 3.96m 15.24cm (13 feet 6 inches) in height
- does not exceed 25m (82 feet) in length.
Cost = $25
Schedule "A" - Fee Schedule for an annual permit where:
- the width is in the overall loaded range of 259.08cm (102 inches) to 365.76cm (144 inches)
- does not exceed 3.96m 15.24cm (13 feet 6 inches) in height
- does not exceed 28.04m (92 feet) in length and 25.90m (85 feet) in length for utility poles.
Cost = $125
Schedule "A" - Fee Schedule for a permit where the overall loaded dimensions exceed any one or more of the following:
- 3.66m (12 feet) in width
- 3.96m 15.24cm (13 feet 6 inches) in height
- 25m (82 feet) in length
Cost = $65
Restrictions - time or weather
Unless weather conditions warrant it, no move shall be permitted prior to March 31 of any year, and all necessary work that the General Manager of Environmental & Engineering Services & City Engineer requires to be done shall be completed within three months from the date of the move; and all such work in every case shall be completed by November 30 of any year.
