During this time, people driving should expect delays and follow detour signs to reach their destinations.

Access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout all stages of construction.

Sidewalk closures and restrictions will be necessary on York Street and Wellington Street. People walking are reminded to watch for uneven surfaces and follow signs to navigate around the construction zones safely.

People biking are encouraged to use Dundas Place for east-west connections through the Core Area.

Some London Transit (LTC) bus routes and stops may be affected. Riders should check the LTC website (londontransit.ca) for the latest updates.

About the York Street Infrastructure Renewal Project

As part of the Downtown Sewer Separation program, this project involves major improvements to underground municipal and private utility infrastructure. This important work is necessary to support a growing population, increase sewer capacity for new development and separate combined storm and sanitary sewers to help improve the health of the Thames River.

Work began in 2024 to replace aging sewer infrastructure on York Street and will continue through 2025 and 2026.
