Work begins Monday, April 17 on Quebec Street Infrastructure Renewal Project

Work on the Quebec Street Infrastructure Renewal Project begins Monday, April 17, and requires a full closure of Quebec Street between Oxford Street East and the Canadian Pacific rail line until fall of 2023.

Salisbury Street between Quebec Street and Glasgow Street will be changed to two-way traffic during this time to support local access around construction.

Pedestrian access across the Quebec Street overpass will remain open, and an area for pedestrians will be maintained on Quebec Street in front of East Carling Public School and YMCA daycare.

Cyclists will have use of the overpass, and are encouraged to use Salisbury and Glasgow Streets to reach destinations north and south of the construction area.

London Transit (LTC) bus route 20 is impacted by this project, and a detour will be in effect for the duration of construction. For the most accurate service information, please visit the LTC website or follow LTC on Twitter @LTCLdnOnt.

Local access will be maintained for residences and businesses, which remain open during construction.

About the Quebec Street Infrastructure Renewal Project

The City of London is reconstructing Quebec Street from Oxford Street East to the Canadian Pacific rail line to replace aging infrastructure that has met its expected lifecycle. In addition to upgrading infrastructure to prepare for future growth, the project will add new cycling infrastructure and enhanced streetscape features. Construction is expected to last until fall 2023, with some minor finishing work in spring 2024.
