Southdale Road West and Colonel Talbot Road intersection will be closed overnight on Thursday, June 1

The intersection of Southdale Road West and Colonel Talbot Road will be closed overnight on Thursday, June 1, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Friday, June 2, as part of the Southdale Road West and Colonel Talbot Road Improvements project.

The closure is required to commission temporary traffic signals and shift traffic to the south half of Southdale Road West for the next stage of the project.

A signed detour will be in place for drivers while the closure is in effect.

Pedestrian access will be maintained through the intersection.

The transit stop located on the east side of Colonel Talbot Road south of the intersection will be closed at this stage until the project is complete, and people taking transit will need to use the stop located to the east on Southdale Road at Pomeroy Place for the remainder of construction.

Once traffic has been shifted to the south half of the road, one lane in each direction (eastbound and westbound) will be maintained on Southdale Road West during this stage of construction.
