Public Service Announcement - Reduced Lanes: The Queen's Bridge

The Queen’s Bridge downtown will have reduced lanes starting the morning of Monday, March 2, until the spring of 2027, during the rehabilitation of the bridge. The construction work will include replacing the bridge deck, barrier walls, bearings, and other repairs we’ve identified through routine inspections. Work will begin on Queens Avenue between Ridout Street and the bridge.

Drivers are advised to expect traffic delays if traveling in this area. Impacted lanes will include the north westbound lane on the bridge, as well as the sidewalk on the north side. One lane westbound on Queens Avenue will be maintained, as well as the sidewalk on the south side. Please follow all posted signage and barriers to help keep everyone safe, including those working on site.

Sidewalk closures and restrictions will be necessary during construction. Safe, accessible pedestrian paths will be provided on at least one side of the road. Signage will be installed to help guide people walking around the temporary sidewalk restrictions. Detour maps for pedestrians are also available on the Get Involved page.
