With many young Londoners off from school for March Break, there are plenty of opportunities next week to enjoy and explore the Forest City with family and friends.
We’ve got something sweet happening on Market Lane
Bundle up and join us Tuesday, March 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Market Lane (139 Dundas Street) for the Maple Lane Sugar Shack.
Enjoy maple taffy, face painting, giant games, photo ops and a live musical performance by Dawn Redskye. Hear from Mary-Lou Smoke as she shares Indigenous traditions and knowledge related to maple syrup, then stay for a special Irish dance performance at 2 p.m. by the Goggin Steward School of Irish Dance!
Don’t miss the other March Break activities happening at Covent Garden Market nearby.
Learn, play and explore at the London Public Library
Looking for ways to keep the kids engaged? Join your local London Public Library branch for a week of free family programs, hands-on learning, and performances that bring science, magic, and nature to life.
Most programs are drop in, but registration is required for select programs. Explore the full March Break schedule at: lpl.ca/marchbreak.
Show your gratitude during Waste Collections Appreciation Week
Our Waste Collections team shows up every week – through extreme cold, heat, and everything in between – to keep our neighbourhoods clean and running smoothly. This March Break, we’re inviting the community to show appreciation for the hardworking crew who help keep our city looking its best.
A simple message can go a long way! On your collections day, hang a kind note in your front window to thank the team and help spread some #LdnKindness throughout the neighbourhood.
Catch the first signs of spring
Environmentally Significant Areas (ESAs) are protected natural spaces within London’s natural heritage system that help preserve important ecological features. Across the city, 12 of these natural areas include a managed trail system that is open to the public. Over March Break, they’re a great place to step outside and watch winter slowly give way to spring.
Find an ESA near you and start exploring the wetlands, forests, meadows, valley lands and significant wildlife habitat that these ESAs contain!
Take on a new recreation activity
The City will be offering several recreation programs over March Break, including roller skating, recreation swims, aquatics programs, adult programs and pickleball, to name a few.
Register for the programs here.
