Beginning Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the intersection of Wellington Road and Southdale Road will be closed overnight between 11:00 p.m. Tuesday evening and approximately 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning to facilitate the activation of the temporary traffic signals for construction of the Wellington Gateway Phase 3 project.
During this time, people driving along Wellington Road are advised to use Wharncliffe Road and White Oaks Road via Commissioners Road or Bradley Avenue for north and south travel. People travelling east and west on Southdale Road are encouraged to use Bradley Avenue via White Oaks Road or Pond Mills Road and use navigation apps such as Waze and Google Maps to find alternative routes.
Nearby essential destinations, including Fire Station 9 and Dearness Home will remain accessible while the overnight closure is in place.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout this work.
