From the Office of Mayor Josh Morgan
Saturday, June 6, 2026 will mark five years since the devastating act of terrorism that took the lives of four members of Our London Family. In their memory, members of the London Muslim community will be hosting a vigil and march open to all members of the public.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. Londoners are invited to gather for the Our London Family Vigil at South Carriage Road west of Hyde Park. Community leaders will share words of remembrance, healing and hope before a spiritual march towards Oakridge Secondary School.
“June 6 is a day that forever changed our city. We remember the four members of Our London Family who were taken from us, and we hold close the loved ones and community who continue to carry that loss,” said Mayor Josh Morgan. “In the face of an act of terrorism meant to divide us, London came together to confront hate beside those who were targeted. We stood with our Muslim community then, and we stand with them today. As we honour the memory of Our London Family, we renew our commitment to challenging Islamophobia, and to building a city where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.”
Motorists should expect road closures and traffic delays in northwest London on June 6 for the Our London Family vigil and march.
Temporary rolling road closures will occur as the march moves through the area. Delays and intermittent access restrictions will occur between approximately 6:45 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Parking: Parking is available at Oakridge Secondary School (1040 Oxford Street), Royal Canadian Superstore (1205 Oxford Street) and The Medical Centre (990 Gainsborough road)
Shuttle bus: Shuttles will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to bring participants from Oakridge SS to South Carriage Road for the vigil. A bus will follow the march back to Oakridge for those in need of assistance.
Londoners can also show solidarity by picking up a free Our London Family lawn sign courtesy of the City of London. One free lawn sign is available per household for pickup at City facilities while supplies last.
The Our London Family flag will be flown at City Hall from Wednesday, June 3 to Tuesday, June 9. City Hall will be lit purple and green June 8 to 10, and the Canadian flag will fly at half mast on Saturday, June 6.
