London Fire Department reports 3 COVID-19 cases

The London Fire Department has announced today that three firefighters have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit has declared this as a workplace outbreak. The London Fire Department is working in full cooperation with the MLHU in response to this. Any firefighters who were working during that time and were in close contact with these individuals have been identified and have either been tested or have been directed to be tested, and will be self-isolating for 14 days.

At all times, firefighters who respond to calls in the community are in full personal protective equipment for their protection and for the protection of those they serve.

The London Fire Department and the City of London remain diligent in following all health precautions in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19. As part of these efforts, the stations in which the firefighters who have tested positive were working are being deep cleaned and sanitized.

To protect the privacy of the firefighters who have been tested, no further information will be provided.
