Golf

The City currently operates four golf courses at two facilities: Thames Valley Golf Course and Fanshawe Golf Course. Follow our FacebookTwitter and e-newsletter for all municipal golf updates.

COVID-19 protocols

The health and safety of our pass holders, guests and staff continues to be our number one priority during the current pandemic.

Physical distancing measures are required on all City-owned golf courses. The City has put forward several COVID-19 policies and procedures at our golf courses.

Golf check-in protocols

  • Pass holders and guests are not to arrive more than 20 minutes prior to their designated tee time.  A greeter will inform you when it’s time to pay, check-in and make your way to the first tee.
  • Tee time intervals will be every 9 minutes.
  • There is a maximum of one tee time per group, meaning you cannot book multiple groups (no league, group or tournament bookings).
  • Single golfers can call 519-661-4450 or use our tee time reservation system to be added to another group.

Washrooms

  • Clubhouse washrooms will be open with a 2 person maximum at all times.
  • Sanitizing station placed at all washrooms to be used upon entry and exit.
  • Halfway house washrooms to follow same protocols as clubhouse washrooms.

Power carts:

  • As of July 16, 2021, golfers are able to ride together in the same power cart without a mask.
  • Power carts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Power and pull carts will be sanitized after every use.

Items to remain closed and/or out of use

  • Club storage
  • Warm-up hitting cage and net
  • On-course bunker rakes

On Course

  • Players must not touch the flagstick.
  • The golf hole/cup will be filled with a “pool noodle” so the golf ball remains at the top of the cup.
  • Please keep a distance of two metres from others while on the playing grounds.

Tournaments, Leagues, Events and Group Bookings

  • Thames Valley and Fanshawe will not be accepting or running events or leagues to start the 2021 golf season. Please continue to monitor this page and our social media accounts for any changes or updates.
