1. Policy Statement

This policy provides direction for the City’s Monumenting Program.

2. Definitions

Not applicable.

3. Applicability

This policy applies to the location, inspection and maintenance of boundary demarcation monuments on City-owned property.

4. The Policy

That the following policy be established with respect to the City's Monumenting Program, namely:

a)    The City of London monuments, consistent with current standard details, be installed along the boundary of City-owned land abutting private property, on an "as required" basis in order to accommodate special circumstances, as determined by Parks Planning & Design for all parkland and Realty Services for other City lands; and

b) Upon discovery of an encroachment onto City lands, By-law Enforcement will be requested to contact the land owner to rectify the situation. By-law shall take all required actions to "assert the City's possession" of City-owned property, as required, by ensuring the removal of encroachments on City-owned property.
