Three of London’s outdoor pools opening early for weekends only

The City of London is excited to announce that three of its outdoor pools are opening for weekends only in the month of June starting this Saturday, June 1.

Weather permitting, Stronach, Westminster and Oakridge, will be open for weekends only until June 29, when all other outdoor pools will officially open for the 2024 season. Starting Saturday, June 29, outdoor pools will be open seven days a week.

This is the first time since before the pandemic the City has opened outdoor pools in June.

The City is reminding Londoners the Glen Cairn outdoor pool is included in the list of pools opening June 29, after previous structural repairs and upgrades to the filters and water heating system were completed in 2022 and 2023. Following some upgrades earlier this spring, the Silverwoods outdoor pool will also be open this summer as the City of London continues its work to revitalize Silverwoods Park.

Londoners can visit london.ca/aquatics to find information on outdoor pools, including locations, program dates and program prices.

Several spaces are available for outdoor learn to swim programs and aquatic leadership programs, and schedules can be viewed on Play Your Way online

Drop-in recreational swims, lane swimming, aquafit, and parent and tot swim sessions will be available at our outdoor pools this summer. Dates, hours and details related to these drop-in programs can be viewed on Play Your Way online. Registration is not required to attend these programs.

Wading pools

Wading pools will open by Sunday, June 30. For a full list of locations and opening dates, please visit london.ca/pools. The hours of operation for wading pools will be added to this webpage in the coming days.

These amenities are free for use and always have an aquatic attendant on site for safety.

Londoners are encouraged to follow the City’s FacebookX and Instagram pages for updates related to aquatics amenities and programs.

Play Your Way Fund

The City’s Play Your Way Fund offers financial support to low income Londoners and families who want to access recreation programs and activities offered by the City. Once approved, funding can be accessed for the next 12 months, up to a maximum of $300 per person. For eligibility criteria and application details, please visit london.ca/PlayYourWay
