Road Closure: King Street between Talbot Street and the Covent Garden Market Parking Garage Entrance

Starting Monday, November 16, King Street will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic between Talbot Street and the Covent Garden Market’s parking garage for approximately two weeks.

This closure is to allow crews to connect utility services to the new 32-storey residential building being built downtown at 131 King Street.

To access the Covent Garden Market’s underground parking garage during this work, drivers can use Covent Market Place from Talbot Street just north of King Street.

The north sidewalk on King Street will remain open, while part of the south sidewalk will be closed within the construction area.

Cyclists using the King Street bike lane should dismount at Talbot Street to walk around the construction area where they can reconnect to the Kind Street bike lane at Richmond Street.

Temporary delivery zones have also been added nearby for businesses to use.

Drivers are encouraged to look for construction and detour signage and to give themselves a little extra time when traveling through the area.
