This Canada Day weekend, the City of London would like to remind residents planning backyard fireworks displays to follow all general safety precautions, and to show neighbours some #LdnKindness by adhering to the Fireworks By-law.
The Fireworks By-law allows backyard displays of consumer fireworks only on permitted days between dusk and 11:00 p.m. This year, these days are:
• Canada Day, Friday, July 1
• Saturday, July 2
Only adults who are aware of the hazards and essential safety precautions should handle and discharge fireworks. It’s a good idea to monitor wind conditions because high winds can increase risks. And remember to always have a water hose or pail close by.
In the event of fire or personal injury that requires immediate medical attention, residents are reminded to call 9-1-1.
To report a noise concern relating to fireworks after hours or on days when not permitted, please call 519-661-5615.
Have a safe, healthy and happy Canada Day.
