The City of London is excited to announce outdoor movies are back for the 2024 season, showcasing family-favourite movies in a neighbourhood park near you. These free movie nights are hosted by residents and neighbourhood-based groups, providing a great opportunity for neighbours to connect.
Here’s what you need to know about outdoor movie nights:
- Every movie night is free!
- Movies begin at dusk. That’s between 8 and 9 p.m. in July and August.
- Movies may need to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Should we need to cancel, updates will be posted on the City’s social media channels, Facebook, X and Instagram.
- Movie nights start June 14 and run until September 13.
If you plan on attending, be sure to bring snacks, drinks, a chair and blankets to complement this great film experience. Registration is not required – simply show up with family and friends and prepare for a night under the stars.
“Outdoor movie nights offer a fun opportunity for Londoners to connect and create summer memories with their friends, family and neighbours,” says Mayor Josh Morgan. “I’m happy to see a great line up of family-favourite movies and I hope to see many Londoners out at their neighbourhood park this summer to enjoy a free movie. I also want to thank the volunteers of the many neighbourhood group and associations and the residents that are working with City staff to host these events – without you these free outdoor movie nights wouldn’t be possible.”
“We’re excited to once again offer outdoor movie nights in neighbourhood parks across London this summer,” says Cheryl Smith, Deputy City Manager, Neighbourhood and Community-Wide Services. “Outdoor movie nights have quickly become a favourite summer activity for many families, and a fun way for neighbours to come together.”
