About the campaign

About Stop Tolerhating

Stop Tolerhating is a movement to reject hate in London. Full stop.

We acknowledge that experiences of hate, racism, and discrimination in London are real and come in many forms. As hate incidents continue to rise, we all need to do our part to make London a more inclusive and safe space for everyone.

Our goal is to equip London’s community – from individuals to businesses – with the resources and tools to combat hate in their daily lives, whether that’s at the grocery store, in schools, in parks, at our place of work, or anywhere that hate can exist in our community.

The Stop Tolerhating campaign is focused on:

  • Enhancing awareness: Educating Londoners about the challenges and experiences faced by equity-denied groups in the city, and raise awareness about the different forms of hate, racism, and discrimination.
  • Providing education: Equipping bystanders with actionable tools, strategies, and knowledge to combat hate and intolerance and become better allies.
  • Supporting equity-denied communities: Empower equity-denied individuals, communities, and organizations with local supports, helplines, and information to assert their rights and protect themselves and their communities.

Through an unprecedented level of collaboration with the provincial government and several local organizations, as well as consultations with equity-denied communities in London, this campaign showcases the power we have to stop hate when we unite.

We invite you to explore the campaign and the resources available across this website.

Thank you for joining us in creating a London that doesn’t tolerhate.

The Stop Tolerhating campaign is led by the City of London’s Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Division. We invite you to share your feedback, experiences, and questions with us at arao@london.ca

About the Anti-Hate Pilot Project

In June 2023, the City of London received $500,000 in funding to facilitate the development of a pilot project focused on addressing hate in London through the creation of a public awareness campaign, a website, and several new local resources for bystanders and equity-denied communities. The Stop Tolerhating campaign was developed through the Anti-Hate Pilot Project.

The Anti-Hate Pilot Project is led by the City of London’s Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Division, made possible through funding from the Province of Ontario’s Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, and supported by the Anti-Hate Pilot Project Steering Committee. The project is a result of extensive collaborations with over 50 different local equity-denied communities, various anchor institutions, and community partners.
