Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for London-Middlesex.
London is expected to experience prolonged freezing rain leading to significant ice build-up in some areas late Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.
Environment Canada is advising highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy, slippery and extremely hazardous. Londoners are being asked to watch for branches or electrical wires that could break under the weight of ice and avoid unnecessary travel.
Salting and sanding roads and sidewalks
City crews are out applying sand and salt to roads and sidewalks and will continue to do so. The City is monitoring road conditions and will update the london.ca/snow webpage throughout the storm. Residents can report slippery conditions to the City online.
Parking
Overnight on-street parking is banned until further notice and registration to park overnight is closed. Please move vehicles off of streets to make sure City vehicles can get through.
