Overnight paving operations planned for King Street between Wellington and Lyle Streets on Sept. 10, 11 and 12

Select blocks of King Street between Wellington and Lyle Streets will be closed overnight for paving operations as part of the East London Link Project on September 10, 11 and 12.

Closures for paving operations will start at 8 p.m. each night and end at 6 a.m. the following day, completed as follows:

  • September 10th, 2023:

King Street between Wellington Street and the west side of the Colborne Street

  • September 11th, 2023:

King Street from the west side of Colborne Street to the west side of Adelaide Street

  • September 12th, 2023:

King Street from the west side of Adelaide Street to west side of Lyle Street, including the Adelaide intersection

North and South traffic will be maintained through the Adelaide and King Street intersection while this work is underway.

This paving is part of finishing work on the East London Link Phase 1 project, and prepares the road for surface painting in the coming weeks. Pre-markings will be in place to help guide drivers.

About the East London Link Project

The East London Link is a multi-year project that will revitalize more than 6 km of road from Downtown to Fanshawe College. The project will add transportation and transit improvements above ground, while repairing and replacing aging sewers, watermains and other underground infrastructure. The East London Link has received funding commitments from the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario to support 10 transit and transit-supportive projects.
