The City of London is pleased to announce the 2023 Urban Design Awards Call for Entries is now open. The purpose of the awards is to recognize, celebrate and inspire design excellence and to showcase a variety of innovative projects in the city of London. Design Awards will be granted for exceptional projects that represent visionary thinking and raise-the-bar for design excellence in London.
Over the past 16 years, the City of London has been recognizing design excellence with the biennial Urban Design Awards.
“The City of London is committed to recognizing our talented architects, planners, landscape architects, urban designers and other design professionals for the outstanding contributions they make to the built environment through their dedication to great urban design,” says Heather McNeely, Director, Planning and Development. “The Urban Design Awards highlight especially outstanding projects that contribute to making London a more exciting, exceptional and connected city.”
Submissions will be accepted until Friday, June 2, 2023, in categories including:
- Urban Design Plans
- Urban Architecture
- Urban Fragments
- Civic Design Projects
- People’s Choice
- People’s Choice Student Project
The two People’s Choice categories aim to involve London residents in the selection process, and submissions will be posted to the City’s Get Involved website for public voting after the Call for Entries is closed.
