Scheduled water shut off at Southdale Road and Colonel Talbot Road intersection may cause temporary water discolouration for Byron area

Some areas of Byron are experiencing lower water pressure today caused by a scheduled water shut off in the area of Colonel Talbot Road and Southdale Road.

The water shut off was scheduled while crews complete work as part of the Southdale Road and Colonel Talbot Road improvements project and has unfortunately affected water pressure outside of the intended area this morning.

The City is addressing this impact, and normal water pressure is beginning to resume to properties in Byron. While water pressure returns to normal, residents may experience some discolouration in the water. The City assures residents that the water is safe, and any potential discolouration will be temporary.

The construction work and regularly scheduled water shut off is anticipated to be complete by the end of today or sooner, and water service will also be restored as soon as possible around the construction area.

The City thanks residents for their patience and understanding as this important work is completed. Anyone experiencing water pressure problems or discolouration after today should call the City’s Water Operations at 519-661-4739 or report the issue online.
