Road Closure: Wortley Road between Beaconsfield Avenue and Stanley Street, and lane restrictions between Stanley Street and the Horton Street ramp

Over the coming weeks, CN Rail will be making repairs to the railway bridge located at Wortley Road between Stanley Street and Beaconsfield Avenue, which will require periodic closures and lane restrictions on Wortley Road.

To complete this work, Wortley Road between Beaconsfield Avenue and Stanley Street will be closed to northbound traffic, and lane restrictions will be in place that permit only southbound traffic on Wortley Road between Stanley Street and the Horton Street ramp.

This work is to be carried out over three periods,

  • August 31 - September 1,
  • September 9 - 15, and
  • September 22 - 29

During these times, a signed detour will be in place and southbound vehicles will be directed onto the Horton Street ramp to reach their destination. Northbound traffic will be detoured through Euclid Avenue.

Cyclists are encouraged to use alternative routes to reach their destinations. Cyclists traveling on Wortley Road will be asked to dismount and follow cycling detour signs to pass through the impacted area. Sidewalk access will be maintained, and pedestrians are asked to follow signs to navigate the area safely.

Motorists are advised to check if their commute is impacted, and to plan ahead by using the Waze app.
