Road Closure: Second Street between Dixie Street and Evangeline Street

Beginning on Wednesday, December 1, Second Street will be closed between Dixie Street and Evangeline Street to allow CP Rail to make necessary repairs to the railway crossing in the area. The road is expected to reopen by the end of the day on Friday, December 3.

During this time, a signed detour will be in effect for motorist.  North and southbound vehicles travelling through the area will be detoured around the closure using First Street, Oxford Street East, and Dundas Street.

Bike lanes and sidewalks on Second Street in this area will also be temporary closed and restricted while CP Rail completes this work. Cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use nearby streets to travel around this closure and reach their destinations on the other side of the railway tracks.

Access will be maintained to local businesses and residences, but road users will not be able to cross the railway tracks during this closure.

Motorists are advised to check if their commute is impacted, and to plan ahead by using the Waze app.
