On Wednesday, August 24, Richmond Street will be closed between Piccadilly Street and Pall Mall to allow CP Rail to make emergency repairs to the railway crossing at Richmond Street. The road will be closed between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.
During this time, a signed detour will be in place for motorists. North and southbound vehicles travelling on Richmond Street will be detoured around the closure using Oxford Street East, Waterloo Street and Pall Mall Street.
Temporary sidewalk closures will be in place on Richmond Street and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternative routes to reach their destinations in the area.
Access will be maintained to local businesses and residences, while CP Rail completes this work.
Motorists are advised to check if their commute will be impacted, and to plan ahead by using navigation tools such as Waze and Google Maps.
Transit users are advised to visit the LTC website for service updates and detours.
