Commissioners Road West between Boler Road and Griffith Street will be closed beginning today until approximately the end of the day on Friday, August 6. This closure is to allow construction of a new water and sewer connection at a new apartment building being built at 1341 Commissioners Road West.
East and westbound drivers and cyclists on Commissioners Road West will be directed south to Byron Baseline Road around the closure. Signage has been placed in the area to notify road users about the closure.
Sidewalks at 1341 Commissioners Road West will also be temporarily closed at times during construction. Pedestrians are asked to look for navigational signage if walking through the area.
Businesses remain open and accessible while this work is completed, and access to driveways will be maintained for residents.
Transit riders are advised to review the LTC detour if their route is impacted.
Motorists traveling through this area should expect delays while construction is underway. Drivers are reminded to give themselves a little extra time when traveling, and to consider downloading the Waze app for assistance finding an alternate route.
